Reading Rocks!

We all want our kids to WANT to read over the summer, right? Come to Reading Rocks! Camp this June and fall in love with reading as we watch stories come to life through Reader's Theater activities with performances for parents on Friday. Students will create their very own bound book, "shop" for books each day and practice retelling with friends. It will also feature Choose Your Own Author Day, as well as a day of fun-filled Campfire Poetry. The morning session will be for students in grades K-2 and will also include word work and phonics activities tailored to their level. The afternoon session is for grades 3-5. Both sessions will focus on fostering a love for reading, exposure to a variety of genres, fluency, deep-thinking comprehension strategies, speaking and listening, research skills, and writing about reading with summer journal provided.
